Douglas H. Wood, CD, Memorial Award
Description: A Toronto native, Douglas H. Wood had a varied and interesting life. As a pilot for the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, he served in Canada, Korea, Tanzania, and Malaysia. His second career at Air Canada was as an instructor and editor involved with pilot training. Douglas was also a talented artist. His work has been displayed at exhibitions in Ontario, Quebec, and Prince Edward Island, and now resides in private collections in Malaysia, San Francisco, Saskatoon, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Charlottetown. Douglas passed away in 2002 and his wife, Barbara, established an endowment to fund an award in his memory for a first-year, Graphic Design student.
Criteria: Applicants must show talent as a graphic designer and vision for the industry.
