PEI Literacy Alliance, Master Packaging Award for Graduates of a GED Program
Description: Three, $1,500 awards available to Holland College students who have completed a CAEC (formerly GED) to achieve their high school equivalency.
Criteria: Applicants must be entering their first or second year of studies in a Holland College program and have completed a CAEC (formerly GED) program to achieve their high school equivalency. Preference will be given to those who are caregivers of a dependent and members of a vulnerable group as defined by the PEI Literacy Alliance (Indigenous, visible minority, person living with disabilities, 2SLGBTQQIA+, official language minority, veteran).
Please note: there will be an opportunity for one recipient each year to speak at the annual PEI Literacy Alliance “Celebration of Learning” event. There will be a $500 speaking honorarium available for this event which is held in November at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall. The expected recipient speech will be 1-2 written pages about the recipient’s learning journey and how the award has affected their life.
