Marie Callahan Memorial Awards for Practical Nursing

Description: Tim Callahan established two awards in memory of his mother, Marie, who trained and worked as a nurse, prior to marrying Lew Callahan and raising their four sons on the family farm in High River, Alberta. It is Tim and his family’s sincere wish to invest in the lives of students entering the nursing profession who demonstrate the same characteristics as Marie lived: compassionate, persevering, hardworking, and capable.

Criteria: Applicants must be entering their second year of the Practical Nursing program at Holland College and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must include an essay that demonstrates their strong, capable work ethic as well as their compassionate and caring nature.
