Cst. Robb Costello Scholarship

Description: The Cst. Robb Costello Scholarship has been created in memory of Cst. Robb Costello who graduated from Holland College’s Atlantic Police Academy in 1988. He immediately began serving his community as a police officer on the Fredericton Police Force, where he worked for 20 years. His life was taken in the line of duty on August 10, 2018. Constable Costello attended the Police Academy as a mature student, thanks to the financial assistance of a member of his then wife’s family. While policing, he often employed de-escalation techniques to resolve conflict and advocated for its use within the policing community.

Criteria: Applicants must be enrolled in the Police Science program at Holland College’s Atlantic Police Academy. Applications must include an essay on the importance of de-escalation in policing. It is preferred that the applicants be mature students who are a visible minority or female-identifying.
