Stephanie Howatt

The Leo Provost Memorial Scholarship was established by his daughter, Stephanie Howatt, in January 2026 in memory of Leo Provost. Leo was a jack of all trades for more than 50 years. He was born and raised on PEI. He was a man who loved his family more than life itself. He always gave back which was the inspiration for this award.

In November of 2025, cancer took the life of Leo. He was a very dedicated, hardworking and talented carpenter. Leo’s family created this award in loving memory of a dear father, husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Beginning in 2027, a $500 scholarship will be awarded annually to a student enrolled in Holland College’s Carpentry or Heritage Retrofit Carpentry program.
