Paul Gallant, in Memory of

Paul Gallant grew up in PEI and spent most of his career in food manufacturing. His work took he and his family to various parts of Canada before returning home for a career with Cavendish Farms, where he became Director of Operations and finally Corporate Facilities Manager.

Following his time at Cavendish Farms, Paul attended Holland College to further his education in small engine repair and was an entrepreneur on PEI. He was both a licensed Industrial Mechanic and Electrician and could fix almost anything.

In semi-retirement, Paul kept the lines running at Anne of Green Gables Chocolates. He was known to always be willing to go the extra mile to do things right, and always with a smile for the Production Team.

Paul passed away in January of 2026 and, to honour his memory, Niki and Peter McLaughlin established the Paul Gallant Memorial Award. Commencing in the 2027/28 academic year, a $1,000 award will be available to deserving students annually.
