Adam and Sonya Balderston

Adam and Sonya Balderston are generous community benefactors to an array of causes, and they care deeply about making a positive impact in our community. They see tremendous value in supporting education and have been giving to the Holland College Foundation since 2017.

Sonya grew up in a Montague fishing family, graduated from UPEI in 1997 with a BScN, received her RN shortly thereafter, and has spent her career working as a nurse at the QEH. Adam grew up in a Stratford farming family, graduated from UPEI in 1997 with a BBA in accounting, received his CA in 2002, and has spent the majority of his career working as an investment advisor at BMO Nesbitt Burns. They’re also proud parents of daughters Katie and Emma.

In 2019, Adam joined the Holland College Foundation Board of Directors and, in 2020, he assumed a leadership role as Chair of Strategic Giving. In December 2021, the Balderstons were inspired to make a major gift to the Holland College Foundation, a portion of which has been designated for the provision of bursaries to deserving Holland College students.
