Joyce Pickles, Honouring

The Joyce Pickles Leadership Award was created by board members from the Charlotte and Stamper Residences community care facilities celebrating the leadership, contribution, and retirement of Joyce Pickles. A Registered Nurse by profession, Joyce has served for more than 34 years (May 1987 – January 2022) as Matron in charge of both Charlotte and Stamper Residences. In addition to providing exceptional care to residents, Joyce provided day-to-day leadership to a team of nursing, RCW, and administrative staff. She has been a true champion in advancing community care and a tremendous mentor to many in the field.

On the occasion of her retirement, the Board of Directors for Charlotte and Stamper Residences wishes to recognize Joyce’s significant contribution by establishing an award in her name, benefiting future students entering the Resident Care Worker program at Holland College.
